How can I get my recorder/mp3 player back early from the principal?
I was listening to my recorder/mp3 player’s music this morning while I was in the breakfast line before classes started. My assistant principal saw me and took it from me even though I explained that it tells me the time so I get to class on time (I don’t own a watch or anything else that I can take with me that tells me the time except handheld games) and that I use it to record class notes. He said he’s going to keep it until after school TOMORROW. That length of the punishment is very imbalanced, seeing that I shouldn’t have to go without it for two days because I listened to it before school. I didn’t even get a warning. I wasn’t even going to use it in that way when school started. I don’t feel comfortable with my stuff being in the chool overnight, especially since the school won’t take responsibility for stolen confiscated items. Should I just wait it out, or how do I convince the principal or someone else to let me have my stuff back early? I don’t get in trouble.
Offer to give him any headphones/speakers until tomorrow, if you truly use it for a watch. That will render the entertainment functionality worthless.
